When you’re down and out
Eric Clapton recorded a song:
Nobody knows you when you’re down and out.
It goes something like this…
Once I lived the life of a millionaire
Had lots of money, didn’t have any cares
Took all my friends out for a mighty good time
We drank bootleg liquor, champagne and wine
Then I began to fall so low
Lost all my good friends, had nowhere to go
If I get my hands on a dollar again
I’ll hang on to it, till the old eagle grins
Nobody knows you, when you’re down and out
In your pocket, not one penny
And as for friends, you don’t have any
When you get back on your feet again
Everybody want to be your long lost friend
I said it straight, without any doubt
Nobody know you, when you’re down and out

Truer words have probably never been said.
You find out who your true friends are
when you’re down and out, when you hit rock bottom.
In this fragile US economy, many are hitting rock bottom.
Just 2 days ago, Fed researchers warned that we are now
at risk for a double-dip recession, driving the Dow
… 265 points lower.
- Capital Bancorp plunged 10.8% …
- Wells Fargo dropped 9.2% …
- Lee Enterprises fell 10.5% …
- Beazer Homes declined 9.3% …
The U.S. banking system remains fragile,
needing as much as $76 billion in capital.
All signs point toward the U.S. dollar
(which has already lost fully one third of its value
relative to foreign currencies) is headed for
a precipitous and historic crash.
Plus, this year, Washington admits that it will sink
another $1.6 TRILLION into debt… YIKES!
Don’t get caught “Down and Out”.
Your best hedge against inflation and job cuts
is to have your own home business.
