Google Shuffle - Deck stacked against you

I’ve been running a website now, for a couple years.
It doesn’t make me a ton of money, but it makes a
couple bucks every month for the last couple years

… with no advertising.

People just find the site, read the sales page, a few
people order the program every month and I make
a couple bucks… nothing worth writing home about.

The site requires no maintenance.
I don’t do any advertising, haven’t touched it in over
a year, no upgrading or adding new content… nothing.

The site was ranked pretty high on Google for it’s main
keyword. It usually ranked on the second page out of
1,460,000 competing sites - not bad.

It didn’t get that much traffic but as I said,
I didn’t have to do anything. People just found it
on their own and occasionally someone would purchase.

One day, I got the brillient idea to expand and advertise on
Google Adwords. That way I could increase exposure and sales.

The next day… wham!

My site suddenly dropped from the 2nd page of Google
for my keyword, to the …nth page on Google.
Nth meaning - not to be found.

In other words, I don’t know what page it was on.
I couldn’t find listed in Google anymore.
Maybe it was on page 281,983 or something.

I don’t know. I couldn’t find it… and neither could anyone else.

Without advertising on Google,
sales went from a few/month to zero/month
.

It was banished into oblivion… for no apparent reason.
Now, I was forced to advertise (if I wanted to make any sales).

Fortunately, the advertising worked. Not much, but a little.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have much of an advertising budget.

I would spend about $100 bucks advertising, and get back
$120. That’s about 20% per week

better than 2% per year that the banks pay.

However, on a super-tight budget, here’s what happens.
You can easily go through a $100 bucks in a one day
and not make a single sale.

You’ve got to know which are your buying keywords.
And You’ve got to have a decent budget until you can
figure out which are the buying keywords.

Otherwise you may find it’s costing you $100 to earn $65.

This is what happens to many people who try their hand
at Google Adwords. It’s like gambling at Las Vegas…
The house usually wins!

I was fortunate enough to make a small profit each time.
But the problem is that if you don’t have a big bankroll,
you can easily spend a ton of money before you receive
your commission money.

You might have to wait a month or more to receive your
commission check, meanwhile money is leaking out of your
pocket… every single day!

It’s not a good position to be in for a newbie with a limited
budget. Just like the croupiers in Vegas who don’t give you
your money back if you lose (even if it was your rent money)

Google doesn’t give you your money back.

Lesson to be learned…
Don’t invest (spend) your money on advertising if you can’t
to lose it because…

When you first get started you probably will lose.
